ACEO Clown Portrait #87 "Gaby"

Clown #87 "Gaby"

Clown #87 is homage to "Gaby" aka  Gabriel Aragón Bermúdez  (1920-1995), a Spanish clown, the oldest brother of "Fofó and Miliki". I am sharing a short clip from their famous TV Show "El Gran Circo de TVE" 1973. They were wonderful and talented clowns. Enjoy it!

ACEO Clown Portrait #86 "Miliki"

Clown #86 is homage to "Miliki" aka  Emilio Aragón Bermúdez  (1929-2012), was a Spanish clown, accordionist and singer, he was a member of the artist family Aragón, brother of clown trio " Gaby, Fofó and Miliki".  He was the father of the famous actor, comedian, musician, filmmaker, composer, clown and entrepreneur audiovisual Emilio Aragón Álvarez, also known as Milikito.

ACEO Clown Portrait #85 "Fofó"

Clown #85 is homage to "Fofó" aka Alfonso Aragón Bermúdez (1923-1976), a clown artist and singer from Madrid, Spain. His mother was an acrobat in circus and he was the nephew of famous clowns "Pompoff and Thedy". He worked with his brothers Gabriel and Emilio in 30' and formed a clown trio "Gaby, Fofó and Miliki". In 1946, when their father passed away they left Spain and went to South America and they became very popular clowns, working in Puerto Rico, US, Venezuela, Mexico, Argentina. In 1972, Fofó and his brothers moved back to Spain and started to work at the famous TV show "El Gran Circo de TVE". They were very popular in Spain. Fofó passed away very young and unexpectedly in 1976.

Clown #84 is inspired by Leah "Tango" Estrin, an American clown artist from San Diego. She is a member of San Diego Clown Conspiracy, World Clown Association and Clowns of America. She is a face painter as well. She works with clown Edward "LoMax" Estrin and they traveled together all over the world. They also teach about clowning at their "LoMax and Tango Clown School" in San Diego. More info about her at www.tangoandlomax.com

ACEO Clown Portrait #82 "Carequinha"

Clown #82 is homage to "Carequinha" or Baldy the Clown aka George Savalla Gomes (1915-2006), a Brazilian clown and actor, born in a circus to a circus family. He had a thick head of hair, but wore a bald wig, starting from five years old – he was a clown in Circus Ocidental until the age of twelve. He was the first Brazilian clown to have his own TV show – Circo Bombril, later called Circus Carequinha ran for 16 years.
