ACEO Clown Portrait #149 "Coco"
2 ½” x 3 ½” (64 x 89 mm), 2019

ACEO Clown Portrait #149 is a homage to "Coco"  Nicolai Poliakoff from Riga, Latvia (1923 -2009) .  He was a professional circus clown for nearly 80 years. COCO is a third generation Russian circus clown, who achieved his fame in England where the family came while he was a youth.  He was associated wit the Bertam Mills and Billy Smart Circuses in England, which later included tours of Europe. He came to the U.S. in 1953 to work for a limited time with the Mills Brothers Circus, before returning to England. COCO later joined Ringling Brothers, Barnum & Bailey Circus 8 years.  He developed several classic clown routines. He later became an independent working clown, sometimes acting as an advance performer with similar shows.

 ACEO Clown portrait #148 is inspired by a very talented young clown Ibnu Mahdiansyah from Jakarta, Indonesia. Ibnu has been clowning since 2006. When he first started, clowning was hobby for him and later on it became his permanent job. He loves clowning and he says "he is born to be a clown". His specialties are acrobat, mime, ventriloquist, kids magician,stilt walker, bubble man, man in balloon. You can visit his instagram at @ibnu_mahdiansyahhh

ACEO Clown Portrait #147 "Grandma" aka Barry Lubin

ACEO Clown Portrait #147 "Grandma" aka  Barry Lubin

ACEO Clown portrait #147 is inspired by a very famous clown "Grandma" Aka Barry Lubin from Ventnor City, NJ, US. Barry Lubin trained at Ringling Bros. and performed in EU and US circuses more than 30 years. Barry Lubin was inducted into the International Clown Hall of Fame in 2002, and the Sarasota Ring of Fame in 2012, the highest honor in American Circus. He was at International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo in 2008, where he received the Bellini Award. He created his famous persona "Grandma" where he worked at Big Apple Circus for about 25 years. He wrote a book called "Tall Tales of A Short Clown". You can watch this interview and see how he can spit water on YouTube

ACEO Clown Portrait #146 "Bello Nock"

ACEO Clown #146  "Bello Knock"
2 ½” x 3 ½” (64 x 89 mm), 2019

ACEO Clown portrait #146 is inspired by a famous American clown "Bello Knock" ( Dimitrios Alexandros Claudio Nock ) from Sarasota, Florida, US. He is seventh generation of a circus performer and his family origins come from Switzerland's Circus Nock in the 18th century. He is clowning around more than 40 years! He began performing at age three, playing the baby on the burning house in Disney on Parade's "Dumbo's Circus". At age six, he played Michael Darling in the touring version of Peter Pan with Cathy Rigby. He performed his family's trademark sway pole act at the age of 15. He performed at New York's Big Apple Circus in 2000.  In 2001, he joined Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus as their headliner.
