ACEO CLOWN PORTRAIT #191 "Thelmo Parole"

ACEO Clown #191 "Thelmo Parole" aka Samuel Peñastro

Acrylic on paper,  2 ½” x 3 ½”

ACEO Clown portrait #191 is inspired by a very talented clown artist "Thelmo Parole" aka Samuel Peñastro lives in London, originally from Benavente, Castilla y León, Spain. In 20 years of his professional career, Peñastro has worked different disciplines of Circus and Theater such as; acrobatics, pantomime, clown, juggling, dance, characterization ... creating, directing and acting in many different projects. In this time Samuel has created several characters and solo shows and has worked in large European circuses such as Cirque Amar (France), festivals such as the Ekaterinburg clown festival "The World Festival of Clowns in Yekaterinburg" (Russia), Edinburgh Fringe Festival (Scotland), Atsugi Festival (Japan) ... and on stages at the height of the Stable St. Petersburg Circus "Bolshoi St Petesburg State Circus" (Russia) ... or the Circo Price Theater in Madrid. He has also worked with great circus and theater companies such as La Fura dels Baus, Els Comediants, Ale Hop, Producciones de Sonrisas… and has been directed by professionals such as Emilio Aragón, Alexander Sonora, Churry Silva and Fraser Hooper.

"THELMO PAROLE" is the result of a deep study and evolution throughout this journey. Looking to incorporate a little of each of these contexts in his shows.

A very intense and delicate work, focused on the interaction with the public, with disciplines such as the manipulation of objects, pantomime or the balances that Thelmo uses as a tool to improvise situations, create games, share moments, project emotions. Inspired by great classic Clowns from Grock to Buster Keaton, and transformed by the influence of modern times ... see his instagram  @thelmoparole
