ACEO Clown Portrait #235 "Lluís Raluy Tomás"

ACEO Clown #235 "Lluís Raluy Tomás"

2 ½” x 3 ½” (64 x 89 mm)

ACEO Clown portrait #235 is a homage to Lluís Raluy Tomás from Barcelona, Spain (1942-2021). He was the third generation of artists in the Raluy family. His father was the founder of Circo Raluy of which he was, along with his brother Carlos, co-director.  At the age of 19 the circus embarked on a tour of more than two and a half years that took Luis and his family in distant countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanganyika, Madagascar, China, Ceylon, Macao, Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam and other areas of the Indian Ocean and Asia). He created in June 2016 as a result of the separation of Circo Raluy into two different circus projects.

Besides beeing a professional clown, he was a writer and self-taught mathematician. His love of mathematics led him to write three books on the subject. This rare combination of circus performer and writer of mathematical books has been reflected in radio and television interviews, and apart from the mathematical books Lluís Raluy has also written a book about mirages and another one about the world of the circus.
