ACEO Clown #243 "Pedro Tochas"
2 ½” x 3 ½” (64 x 89 mm)
ACEO Clown portrait #243 is inspired by a very talented clown "The Sculptor Clown" Pedro Tochas from Avelar, Portugal. Tochas is a regular street and stage performer, stand-up comedian, a past cast member for a popular Portuguese TV comedy series and a judge for a famous TV show in Portugal. Pedro (Pedro Nuno Simões Lopes dos Santos) studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Coimbra in Portugal. In the university years due to his aptitude for juggling with fire, he received the nickname Tochas (Torch). He traveled to the United States and studied juggling and physical comedy at the Celebration Barn Theater. Later on he trained himself in Academy of Circus Arts and the Physical Theatre in England. He returned the following year, but this time with a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, which helped him to afford the cost of living in England. "The Sculptor Clown" caracter is nothing more than his imagination and a little help from the audience, he builds a love story without saying a single word, with heroes, villains, and epic battles. He will perform in Bread & Circus, World Buskers Festival January 13th to 29th in Christchurch, New Zealand. Visit his website for more info www.pedrotochas.com
